Lisa Smith

2025 Hall of Fame

Lisa Smith’s career in education spans over three decades of dedicated service and athletic leadership. Beginning at John XXIII Schools in Middletown, Ohio, where she taught for six years from 1988 to 1994, Lisa simultaneously launched her coaching career at Mason High School. There, she served as JV Basketball Coach for five years and Varsity Soccer Coach for two years, demonstrating her versatility in athletics.

In 1994, Lisa found her long-term home at Goshen High School, where she would spend the next 31 years shaping young minds and developing athletic talent. Her impact on Goshen's athletic programs was profound, leading the Varsity Volleyball program for 21 years (1994-2015), coaching JV/Freshman Basketball for 14 years (1995-2009), and serving as Varsity Tennis Coach for three years (1994-1996). In the latter part of her career, she expanded her coaching repertoire to include Varsity Girls Golf as Co-Coach from 2017 to 2024.  She has been awarded SBAAC Coach of the Year in two different sports (Volleyball and Golf) and helped each of those programs win SBAAC league championships.

Beyond athletics, Lisa's commitment to student well-being is evident in her role as Hope Squad/Source of Strength Advisor, a position she has held since 2022. Her excellence in education was recognized by the Goshen Chamber of Commerce when she was named Teacher of the Year. She also contributed to broader educational initiatives as part of the Clermont County Lead Team from 2018 to 2021.

Lisa's legacy at Goshen High School extends far beyond the classroom and playing fields, representing a career marked by dedication to both academic excellence and athletic achievement.
