George Dallas Rise III was born May 1, 1945, in Pittsburgh, PA to George Dallas Rise Jr. and Katherine Alcorn Rise. In 1970 he married Louisa Gibbons Davis in the Latrobe Presbyterian Church, Latrobe, Pennsylvania. They have four children. Katherine Louisa Rise Housman, George Dallas Rise IV, Elizabeth Anne Rise Meece, and Deborah Shay Rise Gray. They have nine Grandchildren: Reeves, Anya, Mazzy, Georgie, Hunter, Lauren, Annabelle, Evelyn, and William.

George grows up in the small mining town of Latrobe, Pennsylvania, and is a 1963 graduate of Greater Latrobe High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1969 from Davis and Elkins College in West Virginia and a Master of Arts degree in secondary administration from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1974. George began his teaching career in Hempfield High School in 1969. In 1970, he moved to Wildwood High School in New Jersey, where he taught English and coached football, wrestling, and track. In 1972, George became an English teacher at Goshen High School where he was also an assistant varsity football coach, assistant basketball coach, and track coach. In 1975, he was named Goshen High School assistant principal and head varsity football coach. In 1983, he became the Goshen High School principal while remaining as head football coach.

In 1996, George was hired by Blanchester High School to become the head football coach and eventually took the position of an assistant principal and then Principal.

As a head football coach for 32 years, George’s overall record was 204-85-5. His championship records include Clermont County League and Fort Ancient Valley League- 1976- 1978- 1983- 1984- 1985- 1986- 1987- 1989- and Kenton Trace League- 1996 and 2000. He was the Head Coach for the victorious East All-Star Team in the Annual East/West All-Star Game in 1989.

In 1991, George was elected to the Southwest District Athletic Board and served as the Board’s president on three occasions. Contributions to the Ohio High School Athletics include Life membership in the OHSFCA and SWOFCA. In 2000 he was named the South West Ohio Associated Press, Coach of the Year, All-District Division IV.

In 2008-2009, George was a Class AA representative to the Ohio High School Athletic Association District Athletic Board and a board member of the South West Ohio Football Conference Association.

In April 2010, in the Blanchester High School Auditorium, George was honored at a "roast" paying homage to his 36 plus years of coaching. In 2003, he was named to the Clermont County Sports Hall of Fame. While at Blanchester he produced two Lombardi Award winners and in 2007, he was inducted into both, the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame and the Goshen Alumni Association Hall of Fame.

The Goshen community elected George to be a member of the Goshen Local School Board from 1/1/1998 to 12/31/2009 and then again from 1/12012 to 1/1/2016.

George is currently retired and he and Louisa have taken up residence in St. Helena Island, South Carolina where he spends time riding around in his golf cart, enjoying hobbies, friends, and family.
